As an interdisciplinary studies major you'll be required to complete 30 or 33 credit hours of courses that — with the help of an advisor — will be selected from multiple disciplines and be combined into a coherent academic program.

• 15 credits may be lower division (100 or 200 level); at least 12 credits must be upper division (300 or 400 level).
• A minimum of eight credits from each of two departments (for a total of at least 16 credits) are required.
• The remaining credits can come from any department or combination of departments.

You'll also complete a three- or six-credit integrative senior capstone experience, which can be a service learning project or an academic project that demonstrates your interdisciplinary skillset. During this capstone course, you'll also create an ePortfolio that documents the experience with your interdisciplinary skillset. If you complete a six-credit capstone, you'll need 33 total credit hours.

As an interdisciplinary studies student, you must meet all of our requirements for graduation (e.g. general education requirements, all interdisciplinary studies major requirements, earning a minimum of 120 credits with a minimum cumulative grade point average of a 2.0). You must also achieve a 2.0 average in the classes for your major.

Applying for Interdisciplinary Studies

• Students who begin their academic career at °×С½ãһФһÂëÈýÖÐÈý can apply for acceptance into this program after exploring °×С½ãһФһÂëÈýÖÐÈý's other undergraduate programs of study in established disciplines.
• First-year students cannot begin at °×С½ãһФһÂëÈýÖÐÈý as an interdisciplinary studies major.
• Transfer students can— with permission of the Director of Interdisciplinary Studies — enroll as an interdisciplinary studies major.
• Students whose academic interests can be addressed through regular departmental majors will be referred to those programs.

There's no application deadline. Accepted students will begin their course of study during the next semester.
